Welcome to the Flamingo Wing Association

The Flamingo Wing Association is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization devoted to fellow Veterans who have proudly served at Homestead AAF/AFB/ARB.

Founded by one of Homestead’s earlier Heritage Wings, the 435 Troop Carrier Wing (TCW) and known by its moniker as the “Flamingo Wing”, our organizational namesake. We have retained their motto “Citus et Certus”, Latin for Swift and Sure, imbedded in our FWA organization’s emblem.

Our membership now includes all veterans and DOD civilians who have served with the successor, subordinate and affiliated organizations of Homestead AAF/ AFB/ARB. Today’s Flamingo Wing reflects a good cross-representation of veterans from the 435 TCW to the present day 482nd Fighter Wing FW. These includes units of the 70th/90th APS, 31FW, 125 FANG, 79 AEW&C, and the 379 BW.

Many Homestead veterans have joined the Flamingo Wing Association as a way to get together with their former squadron members with whom they have stayed in touch over the years. They use our annual reunion as an occasion to come together, with many returning again as an annual tradition.

We invite you to start a new tradition.
